Byron Buxton Suffers Left Hand Fracture
3 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hand) was hit by a pitch in the left hand during Monday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. It was initially believed that he had merely suffered a hand contusion, but X-rays after the game revealed a fracture. The news is especially disappointing given the fact that Monday was just Buxton's third game back after missing about a month and a half due to a Grade 2 strain in his right hip. He could be sidelined for another month or so due to this fracture. Expect to see a mix of Nick Gordon and Gilberto Celestino in center field for the Twins in the coming weeks.
