Fantasy Baseball Streamers - MLB Hitter, Pitcher Lineup Picks for Thursday 5/27

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 5/27/21. Dave Swan identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Baseball is back, and fantasy managers in daily leagues, no doubt, already have holes to fill with streamers. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily streaming picks.

Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be useful for fantasy managers setting DFS lineups.

We have an 8-game slate Thursday, starting earlier than usual. Fortunately, there are quite a few streamable players with 16 teams taking the field. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from Yahoo! leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 5/27 - Shallow Leagues

Evan Longoria (3B, SF) - 19% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Edwin Uceta

We can't bring up Longoria without showing a snapshot of his Statcast metrics(chart below). For those who haven't been paying attention, red is good and lots of red is very good. Longoria is the unique specimen that continues to rake at the plate, regardless of age. Every hard-hit batted ball data point helps describe Longoria's mastery at the dish. On top of all those red numbers, the matchup is one of the best on the slate and this should be an easy streamer call for you.

Jurickson Profar (2B/OF, SD) - 30% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Adrian Houser

Profar continues to get an abundance of playing time, which makes him a terrific streamer. The roster% has increased over the previous weeks, but he should be widely available in most leagues. The significant part to Profar is the plate skills. He doesn't strike out a lot and walks a ton! So, while being a nightmare for pitchers, the super-utility has added stolen bases to his repertoire. Are we expecting any HRs? Probably not, but he is already at eight SBs on the season and looking to pile more on today.

Brad Miller (2B/3B/OF, PHI) - 26% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Pablo Lopez

Miller is a left-handed bat with a ton of thunder in his swing. Already on the season, Miller has five extra-base hits vs. RHP in 67 ABs. Furthermore, his OPS for the year is .908. Additionally, the Statcast metrics back up his success, as shown by the .472 xwOBAcon and 8.3% barrel rate. We shouldn't love the pitching matchup because Pablo Lopez has done a great job suppressing quality contact, but Miller has shown an ability to crush RHP for years.

Hitter Streamers for 5/27 - Deep Leagues

Ha-Seong Kim (2B/SS/3B, SD) - 11% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Adrian Houser

In this case, you have to love the matchup. Kim is a master of plate discipline that doesn't chase balls outside the zone, and Houser is a low-K% pitcher that relies on balls in play for outs. So something has got to give, and I fully expect it to be Houser. But, on the other hand, Kim has been crushing pitches lately! He touts an ISO well over .200 with a ton of loud contact in the last two weeks.

Edmundo Sosa (SS, STL) - 4% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Matt Peacock

Edmund Sosa has been a shot in the arm for the St Louis Cardinals. The young infielder is riding an eight-game hitting streak that is fueling his .375 batting average. Now, the terrific aspect of Sosa's game is the speed. Sosa has swiped a pair of bags already. Keep in mind his sprint speed is in the 98th percentile. He's not a one-trick pony either. In his most recent MiLB season, Sosa piled up 17 HRs. That's a lot of tools for a lower-rostered player!

Taylor Walls (SS, TB) - 6% rostered

Matchup: @ RHP Brady Singer

Walls is another speedy prospect to target that loves to steal bases. His track record in the MiLB is imposing. In 2018, Walls swiped 31 bags in 467 ABs. In 2019, he stole 28 bases in only 367 ABs. So it's safe to say, if Walls gets on base, he will likely be running. This begs the question, will Walls get on base? The answer is so far so good. He handles MLB pitching fairly well as seen by the 16% BB-rate and .470 xwOBAcon.

Pitcher Streamers for 5/27 - Shallow Leagues

Ryan Weathers (SP, SDP) - 38% rostered

Matchup: @ MIL Adrian Houser

The major concern for Weathers will be his pitch count. The Padres like to limit the number of times through the order against Weathers and piggyback him with another multi-inning RP. However, it appears that Dinelson Lamet is slated to pitch tomorrow, so this could be a game where Weathers is allowed to pitch into the sixth inning. Added innings pitched mean a great outing for Weathers because the Brewers vs. LHP strike out the sixth-most in the MLB(27.6%). So this could fit the streaming profile perfectly as Weathers keeps traffic off the basepaths. If he can make it through five strong innings, we could pick up that win.

Pitcher Streamers for 5/27 - Deep Leagues

Spencer Howard (SP, PHI) - 5% rostered

Matchup: @ MIA Pablo Lopez

Howard is an absolute dice roll play, but he is a deep streaming option that has a high-ceiling potential. Spencer Howard is the Phillies' number one pitching prospect for a reason. In the minor leagues, he showcased an ability to strike out well over a batter per nine innings. It may be a small sample of 7.1 innings pitched, but he does tout a 36% K-rate. However, the demise will be his control. The walk rate is nearly 17%, which any SP can't have to be successful. Although, today's matchup against the Marlins is a favorable one. The Miami ballclub strikes out the fifth-most vs. RHP with a tiny .125 ISO.
