ANALYSIS: Kansas City Royals outfielder Michael A. Taylor is off to a solid start to his first season with the team. Taylor had productive stretches here and there during his seven years with the Washington Nationals, but injuries and inconsistent playing time hampered his abilities to consistently contribute for fantasy purposes. Now, the playing time and health both seem to be there.

Through 13 games, Taylor is slashing .273/.304/.432 with two home runs, one stolen base, six RBI and six runs. Taylor ranks in the 95th percentile in sprint speed through the early going this year. He stole 24 bases in 2018 and has the chance to flirt with 20 stolen bases this year if he can remain healthy. He also has significant power upside. He currently has an average fly ball/line drive exit velocity of 98.9 mph, which is second on the Royals to only Salvador Perez.

Taylor should be rostered in all leagues of 12 teams or deeper. He's especially valuable in rotisserie leagues and head-to-head categories leagues due to his versatility. He's been slowly working his way up the Royals' lineup. He began the year primarily in the eighth spot in the lineup, but has been recently hitting sixth. If he can continue to climb in the order, his upside could grow even more.
