BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 2% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: They called a man crazy for recommending rostering Jordan Akins after his Week 1 performance. Now, they are calling him a visionary. Thank you, thank you, but I had this feeling I was going to be right. Sure, Akins W1 stats were the lowest of low volume numbers, but they were also hyper-efficient and most importantly, Akins was on the field for 48 snaps compared to TE2 Darren Fell's 25.
While Akins could only catch his two targets in the first game of the season, he did so for 39 yards and a touchdown. That means he bagged 11.9 PPR points against the Chiefs and facing a much worse TE-defense in Baltimore's this past Sunday he excelled once more on a much higher usage/volume. Akins was targeted seven times in W2, caught all of those seven targets, racked up 55 yards, and only lacked the touchdown to put the cherry on top of a TE1-role-sealing performance.
Most fantasy GMs remained asleep in advance of Week 2 and left Akins available in virtually every league. Akins kicked them in the mouth with another good 12.5-PPR game. It is not that those points are going to win you the league, but he's definitely a more than 2% rosterable player. No brainer to get in deep leagues, with upside to turn into a TE1 for 12-team-league GMs if Houston keeps losing weapons on offense (Duke Johnson and Will Fuller V are banged up).
