Buy or Sell? Week 11 Trade Advice

Who should fantasy football owners be targeting as a buy or sell candidate entering Week 11 of the 2018 season? Martin Konstantinov examines players whose fantasy value are rising or falling.

One of the toughest parts of fantasy football to navigate is trading with league-mates. As a result of the unique characteristics of every person in a fantasy football league, it is often difficult to find a strategy for trading players that works for everyone in any situation.

Nevertheless, highlighting the performances of certain players helps to create a starting point for fantasy owners. By knowing who to trade or trade for, fantasy owners are able to have a starting point for any trade negotiations that they have.

Each week, the trade values of certain players rise and fall according to their performances on the field. Let's take a look at some players that fantasy owners may want to consider offloading or trading for after Week 10 of the NFL season.

Editor's Note: Steer clear of costly draft mistakes with RotoBaller’s expert Fantasy Football Bust analysis. We break down overvalued players, potential letdowns, and risky ADPs to avoid, so you can build a smarter, safer roster.

Buy Low

Marlon Mack (RB, IND)

Despite a Colts win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10, Marlon Mack was far from impressive against a tough d-line. Mack only had 29 rushing yards and nine receiving yards on the night and struggled to get much going on the ground. Additionally, although the Colts scored 29 points, Mack was only able to contribute on a 2-Pt conversion as tight end Eric Ebron stole the show in the touchdown department. It seems as if Mack could struggle against tougher defenses down the backstretch of the season.

However, fantasy owners should not forget that, before this past week, Mack had the second most yards-per-game behind running back Todd Gurley despite only featuring as a running back for the last four weeks of play. Mack was playing with a niggling injury in Week 10, but before that the second-year pro was on an absolute tear, with four touchdowns in his previous two games, two games over 145 yards-from-scrimmage, and three games in a row with at least 89 yards on the ground. If any of the Mack owners in your leagues are panicking, now is the time to move in for a talented running back with great matchups over the next few weeks.

Tyler Boyd (WR, CIN)

It seems as if wide receiver A.J. Green's absence has made things more difficult for fellow wideout Tyler Boyd's production. Boyd was held to three catches (for 65 yards) on four targets despite playing as the featured option in the team's passing game. However, chalk up Boyd's involvement to a negative game script, as the Bengals were outplayed by the Saints defense early and lost the game before Boyd had a sufficient chance to establish himself.

Boyd is still a fantastic option with weekly PPR upside who also will have a larger role in the end-zone now that Green looks to be out for a while. Boyd is one of those wide receivers who can win you a week but who also is largely matchup proof, and some people still don't realize that. Go get Boyd if you can, as his lack of pedigree and one-game slump (if you can even call it that) makes this one of the last chances for fantasy owners to get a starting-caliber player for the rest of the season.

Sell High

Leonard Fournette (RB, JAX)

Fournette is finally back and healthy, and he rewarded fantasy owners for their patience with a two-touchdown, 100+ scrimmage yard performance. Although his efficiency on the ground was dreadful, Fournette still got valuable goal-line work and looks like a fantastic red-zone option on a team that will rely on him to punch it in for the rest of the season.

However, the Jaguars do not have a great offense, so finding enough opportunities for Fournette to score may be more difficult than it seems. Additionally, there is always a chance that Fournette re-injures himself and is out for another spell, making this week the perfect time to cash in on the player that fantasy owners have likely held on to until this point. Fournette's name-value and performance last week makes him a good option to package with another player for an elite running back or wide receiver.

Allen Robinson (WR, CHI)

Well, that was a welcome surprise. Allen Robinson, who is supposed to be the team's top target on offense, hauled in six catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns in his team's victory over the Lions. Robinson is certainly a big-play threat and a weapon in the end-zone, making his role a valuable one on a high-powered Bears offense. Robinson looks to be developing better chemistry with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, as seen by his four touchdowns in the last four games that he has suited up for. However, with the number of options that the Bears have on offense, Robinson's week-to-week impact may be less than most anticipate, making this the perfect time to offload the talented wideout for a more stable option at the position or at running back.
