BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues
OWNED IN: 36% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Al-Farouq Aminu is an interesting option who could be available on waiver wires in standard leagues. Aminu isn't necessarily a stat-sheet stuffer, but he is a player who gets pretty consistent run on the court, having started all 10 of Portland's games this season. Aminu does have some competition for playing time, coming in the form of Zach Collins, but Aminu has still seen 28.8 minutes per game thus far this season.
Aminu isn't the most gifted offensive player, and won't be hoisting up a lot of shots on a team with C.J. McCollum and Damian Lillard who combine for nearly 35 field goal attempts per game. What Aminu does bring to the table is outstanding rebounding abilities and solid three-point shooting. This season, Aminu is averaging 8.9 rebounds per game which could be extremely valuable given his SF eligibility on some platforms. He has struggled to connect much from deep this year, averaging 0.9 three's per game on just 28.1% shooting, but that is a figure that should increase as the season goes on (he is a career 33.4% three-point shooter).
Over the past week, Aminu has logged double-digit rebounds on three separate occasions and is averaging 8.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.8 three's per game. Those numbers aren't going to take the league by storm, but he could be a very valuable pickup for the end of your bench. It's also certainly worth mentioning that Aminu has knocked down 17-of-19 free-throw attempts this season. If you're looking for a solid source of rebounds, free-throw percentage and a player who can knock down the deep ball, Aminu is certainly worth a look. He does carry some risk however, as he is shooting at just a 38% clip from the field this season.
