BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-14 Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 25% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The New York Knicks seem like they will be tanking this season, which could be great news for Dotson's playing time. After two DNP's to open the year, Dotson has played no less than 22 minutes in each of the Knicks' last four games, including drawing his first start of the season against the Warriors last week. With Kevin Knox, Courtney Lee and Emmanuel Mudiay all sidelined with injuries, Dotson should log a solid amount of minutes going forward.
In the four games where Dotson has logged minutes, he has averaged 14.0 points on 46.8% shooting, including burying an impressive 40.7% of his shots from beyond the arc. The three's are especially impressive considering the high volume of deep balls he's attempted this season, converting on 11-of-27 three's, good for 2.7 per game. He's adding 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as well as he has been working hard to maintain his increased playing time.
David Fizdale seems ready to embrace the tank as the Knicks' star, Kristaps Porzingis is still on the mend from his ACL injury last season. With the Knicks not seeming competitive this year, tanking would serve Dotson well as he could soak up as many minutes as possible. He may see a dip in court time when Kevin Knox returns, but until then he is someone to be owned in 12+ team leagues. He provides a solid amount of points and rebounds while not harming percentages and his ability to generate steals defensively is a huge plus in his value.
