BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues (for upside in PTS)
OWNED IN: 40% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Derrick Rose has gotten off to a strong start to the 2018-19 season and could be worth an add if he’s still on the wire. He’s owned in 40% of leagues at the moment but that number is likely to rise after his recent run of solid outings. He has logged more than 30 minutes of court time in two of the T-Wolves three games this season.
Rose put up 28 points in 32 minutes against the Mavericks on Sunday, however that was with Jimmy Butler being rested. Still, it was an all-around excellent game for Rose who added five rebounds, five assists, a pair of steals and a block to the stat sheet. He represents an obvious injury risk and had what was by far his best game this year with Butler sidelined, so he is far from a guarantee at this point. He will be competing with Jeff Teague and Tyus Jones for minutes on a typical night, but he is certainly a cog in the T-Wolves’ rotation.
Rose has struggled from deep (2-for-8 this season) and has proven throughout his career that he is not a reliable three-point shooter, but has provided solid numbers in terms of assists and points, averaging 5.0 assists and 16.0 points this year. If you need a high upside play with a chance to rack up points and assists, Rose is a viable option. But there is still a lot of risk surrounding the oft-injured point guard.
