FanDuel, DraftKings NHL DFS Lineup Picks (4/5/18): Daily Fantasy Hockey Advice

Tom Vecchio's top NHL DFS lineup picks on FanDuel, DraftKings for 4/5/18. Expert daily fantasy hockey advice, sleepers & player recommendations.

We have a MASSIVE 12 game slate, and there are good options on the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters where you can afford them.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually, 5.5 goals are average, so targets game at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total of five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/5/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Jakub Voracek - W, PHI vs CAR (DK - $6,200, FD - $7,000)

The Flyers gave away an easy win the other night, and with that, have still yet to officially clinch a playoff spot. They are now at home against the Hurricanes, who give up over three goals per game, making this a very winnable game for the Flyers. He is on the second forward and the first power-play unit, which will give him plenty of upside against this weak opponent. He has three points in his last two games and should be able to keep this streak going into this must-win game.

The Sedin Brothers - Daniel and Henrik (DK - $4,200, $3,700, FD - $5,600, $4,400)

I’m always up for a good storyline, and we have a big one here. The Sedin brother announced the other day that this is their final season in the NHL, making this, their final home game. Yes, after 17 seasons in the NHL they are calling it quits. They certainly aren’t the point scoring machines they were in prior years, but in their last game at home, there has to be some gas left in the tank. They are both on the cheaper side, and you can put them in any lineup. Generally, I wouldn’t be going to the Canucks as a cash game play, but they are up against the Coyotes, who are one of the weakest teams in the league.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Tyler Myers - D, WPG vs CGY (DK - $4,300, FD - $4,300)

Myers is seeing time on the second power-play unit and the second defensive pairing, for the Jets, one of the best teams in the league. Winnipeg did rest a bunch of players the other night, but they should be back in the lineup, which should be an overall boost to the offense. Myers has a two-game point streak going, which he isn’t truly known for, but will offer plenty of shots on goal, and some blocked shots.

Sami Vatanen - NJ vs TOR (DK - $5,600, FD - $4,600)

Vatanen is on the first power-play unit for the Devils, along with the defensive pairing. He isn’t the biggest offensive threat in the world, but he does take plenty of shots, and block some as well. He can offer value from the other stats, and I will note, he seems a bit over-priced on DraftKings, so I'd look for him over on FanDuel. Better if he used in a stack to better capitalize on his potential upside. Vatanen and the Devils are up against the Maple Leafs, who aren't the best on defense, so he could sneak in a real NHL point.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Jonathan Quick - G, LA vs MIN (DK - $8,200, FD - $8,900)

The Kings are in spot where they have all but clinched a playoff berth, but just need a nudge over the edge. Tonight they are up against the Minnesota Wild, who are on the second night of a back to back, and will be starting their backup goalie. This puts the Kings in a spot where they should be winning this game, and thus come away with the win for Quick. Speaking of Quick, he has only given up three goals in his last three starts and has two wins over that span. The former Stanley Cup winner should be one of the safer options on tonight's slate.
