Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (1/11/18): NHL DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

Tom Vecchio's top daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for 1/11/18. Expert NHL DFS advice, sleepers & player recommendations for FanDuel and DraftKings.

We have a 3 game slate tonight, and there are limited options on the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters.

Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/11/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider

Alex Ovechkin - W, WAS vs CAR (DK - $7,800, FD - $8,800)

We know that Ovechkin is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit so you want to get him into your lineups on a normal night. There are only three games tonight, so you should really be paying up for one of the top skaters, and Ovi is a hat-trick waiting to happen. He is taking over four shots per game, and has 27 goals in 43 games this season. He is up against the Hurricanes, who are giving up over three goals per game.

Pierre-Luc Dubois - C, CLS @ BUF (DK - $5,200, FD - %5,700)

Anytime Buffalo is on the slate, you always want to stack against them, since they are giving up over three goals per game. You can roster against them for cash or GPPs, and should feel confident in either. Dubois is on the top forward line and the top power-play unit for the Blue Jackets, putting him in a good spot tonight. He has goals in two straight games, so we want to ride the hot hand to more points. He takes over two shots per game, and isn't afraid to block a shot every now and then.

DFS Defenders to Consider

Victor Hedman - D, TB vs CGY (DK - $6,500, FD - $6,700)

There is no sense in trying to fade the top defensemen on a short three game slate, so you want him in either your cash game or GPP lineups for tonight. He blocks over one shot per game, along with taking nearly three shots per game. Hedman is on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, giving him plenty of ice time to make and impact for your DFS lineup. You can use him solo for cash games, or stack him and the first power-play up for tournaments.

Marco Scandella - D, BUF vs CLS (DK - $3,400, FD - $3,800)

Scandella is very cheap across the industry, so he will allow you to get up to some higher priced stacks. He makes a good cash game option, since he is blocking over one shot per game, along with takings about two shots per game. He also sees time on the second power-play unit, so more opportunities for him to rack up some DFS points.

DFS Goalies to Consider

Braden Holtby - G, WAS vs CAR (DK - $8,200, FD - $9,100)

Holtby didn't start the most recent game for the Caps, so he is coming off of full rest. He has 24 wins in 32 starts this season, and has generally always sees around 30 shots per game, giving him plenty of time to rack up the points. We know that the offense around him can always put up goals, so he is looking like one of the locks tonight to get the all important DFS win. Clearly one of the top cash game options on the slate, and if you are rolling out multiple GPP lineups, you will want some exposure to him.
