BALLER MOVE: Add in all leagues
OWNED IN: 51% of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: The Arizona Diamondbacks may have traded away a lot of their future to win now, but a big part of their future is reliant on the emergence of Brandon Drury.
After hitting .331 at AAA-Reno in 2015, Drury got a September audition in Phoenix to show what he could do. It obviously left a lasting impression as Drury is now getting the opportunity to play on a somewhat regular basis with the big injury to A.J. Pollock right before the start of the 2016 season.
Drury sports a .549 SLG%, .257 ISO and a .292 BA with six homers and has forced the Diamondbacks to find him playing time. The transition to the OF has not seemed that difficult for someone who played exclusively in the infield during his minor league career.
Drury's BB% of 2.5 must improve as pitchers continue to develop their strategy against him. His OBP of .314 also needs to improve if he is to remain a threat at the major league level. His .862 OPS shows that Drury is capable of maintaining production and his wRC+ of 120 also demonstrates that as well.
This guy needs to be owned in all formats while the playing time and production are there. Buying low on him is probably not going to happen unless your league is asleep at the wheel. But owners should take advantage of his premium worth right now and reap the benefits later.
