ANALYSIS: Nathan Eovaldi is an enigma wrapped in a mystery. A hard-throwing right-hander pitching in the Bronx has the potential to be a valuable commodity. Just when Eovaldi seems to be putting it all together, he comes up just short. The good news is that over his first three starts, Eovaldi is giving up a run less each time he pitches. The bad news is that his ERA is still 6.11 on the year. He has been victimized by the longball four times already. There is hope, however, as his 22/3 K/BB rate is impressive. Eovaldi will likely post an ERA closer to his career average of 4.16 when it is all said and done. His career WHIP of 1.40 is not too inspiring either. What he offers is the potential to win 15 games in pinstripes and strikeout between 175-200 batters with adequate ratios. He is a bench stash at this point, but don't be afraid to plug him in your lineup when a favorable match-up presents itself.
