BALLER MOVE: Target ~250
CURRENT ADP: 284.7
ANALYSIS: Danny Valencia played on six different teams over the last four seasons, and finally landed with the Athletics late in 2015. He is projected to be the starting third baseman for the A's in 2016. It is difficult to form any expectations for such an inconsistent player, but there is enough of a body of work to identify Valencia as a player who can contribute a little bit of everything from a fantasy perspective.
Valencia has improved his rate stats substantially over the last four years, and he experienced a power surge in 2015, despite playing many of his home games in the spacious O.Co Coliseum-- he hit four of his 18 homers in just 90 at-bats in Oakland. Given a full season of stability, Valencia may be able to turn in a concrete, consistent performance.
Almost at the age of 32, Valencia is still sort of proving himself to fantasy owners. Given recent trends, his offensive production could make him a universal 3B option on fantasy rosters, but he needs to prove it for one more season. An average close to .300 and double digit home runs are certainly within reach, and that kind of stat line would provide a ton of value at his current ADP.
