BALLER MOVE: Target ~145
CURRENT ADP: 156.3
ANALYSIS: In 11 starts following his mid-season call-up in 2015, Luis Severino lived up to the hype that made him the Yankees’ most highly-regarded prospect. Over that span, he compiled a 2.89 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP. Batters made contact on 78.7% of Severino’s pitches, but were only able to register a .265 BABIP and a .229 average.
Severino managed a 62.8% first pitch strike rate, batted whiffed on 9.6% of his strikes, partly due to his velocity. His fastball sat around 95.2 mph, with his slider and changeup in the high 80s. If he can continue to throw strikes and make batters miss, he will produce a lot of value for fantasy ownes.
