After hearing about the potential Aroldis Chapman trade to the Dodgers, Kenley Jansen was reportedly upset about ultimately losing his role as closer. Fortunately for Jansen, and those drafting him, that deal fell through, and he will indeed be the Dodgers closer once again. Jansen managed only 52.1 IP last season due to a minor injury, but still converted 36 SV and posted a very respectable 2.41 ERA.
Jansen is ranked right on the cusp of top five closers by our analysts at RotoBaller. Jansen's pressure of knowing it’s his contract year should increase his motivation for success, allowing him to be even more dominant and post top tier stats in 2016. Considering an almost certain bounceback from the Dodgers offense this season, Jansen is likely to be a significant amount better than Zach Britton, ranked right behind him, so draft wisely.
