Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins has been declared officially inactive for the Bills' Week 5 tilt with the Tennessee Titans. This doesn't come as much of a shock considering the uncertainty that has swirled around Watkins over the course of the week.
Watkins is still nursing a calf injury that held him out of the Bills' Week loss to the Giants. There was some hope held out that he might see a few snaps this week, as he reportedly said he would be available "in an emergency", and has practiced to some extent all week.
Watkins' absence will likely lead to another week of double-digit targets for tight end Charles Clay, who has been a top-five tight end so far in 2015. Look for quarterback Tyrod Taylor to try and spread the ball around to several of his receivers, as the Bills will also be without running backs LeSean McCoy and Karlos Williams. Percy Harvin becomes a boom-or-bust flex play in deeper leagues.
