Who is Tyrod Taylor?

Right on cue, quarterbacks all over the league are placed inside the octagon to fight to the death (otherwise known as “preseason” – that third circle of Hell where players fall victim to season ending injuries during games that mean about as much as a reality show solely focused on watching paint dry) until only one victor remains standing tall.

Then there’s the Buffalo Bills, a team even the league forgets exists, who have apparently decided to go with quarterback Tyrod Taylor as starter over EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel, according to multiple sources.  Taylor, who was Joe Flacco’s back up with the Baltimore Ravens for four seasons, is finally getting his time to shine (or whatever “shining” is in Buffalo) after impressing during the preseason and training camp.

The Bills, a team usually known for their highly ranked defense, have used the offseason to work on assembling offensive weapons (LeSean McCoy, Percy Harvin). During Game 3 of the preseason, Taylor was 12/13 with 122 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown, not to mention zero interceptions.

Look for Buffalo to officially name a starter for Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts fairly quickly.
