Yainer Diaz Still Out Wednesday
6 months agoHouston Astros catcher Yainer Diaz (finger) remains out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale in San Francisco against the Giants. Victor Caratini will once again do the catching for left-hander Framber Valdez and will bat seventh against Giants right-hander Logan Webb. Diaz is missing a third straight game due to a right-index finger injury that he suffered while taking a foul tip over the weekend. The 25-year-old is considered day-to-day, and fantasy managers will need to check back on Friday to see if he's ready for the series opener against the Tigers after an off day on Thursday. Diaz has excelled as Houston's primary catcher this year and is currently slashing .257/.283/.408 with seven homers and 33 RBI in 218 at-bats. He's hit in all six games in June so far, going 8-for-25 (.320) with four homers and 10 RBI.
