Byron Buxton Getting A Breather Against Rockies
6 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton is taking a seat on Monday against the visiting Colorado Rockies. Manuel Margot will draw into center field for the series opener and will bat eighth against Rockies right-hander Dakota Hudson. The oft-injured Buxton could use a day of rest, as he's gone 12-for-65 (.185) with two home runs, one triple, five RBI, four walks and 21 strikeouts in 19 games since coming off the injured list on May 18. The 30-year-old has already been on the IL this year, is hitting just .223 (35-for-157), and hasn't shown much speed or power so far for the Twins in 2024. Margot has very little fantasy upside, especially in the eight-hole, and is hitting just .225 (27-for-120) on the year with a homer, 12 RBI and three stolen bases. He has one hit in four career at-bats versus Hudson.
