Framber Valdez Gives Up Five Runs In Game 2 Loss
1 year agoHouston Astros left-hander Framber Valdez took the loss in Game 2 of the American League Division Series on Sunday in the 6-2 defeat to the Minnesota Twins by allowing five earned runs on seven hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out five in 4 1/3 innings. The 29-year-old Dominican southpaw will hope he gets another chance this postseason to bounce back after going 12-11 with a 3.45 ERA (3.50 FIP), 1.13 WHIP, 57 walks and a career-high 200 strikeouts in 198 innings over 31 starts during the regular season. The two-time All-Star has been pretty reliable in his playoff career with the Astros, as he's sporting a 3.82 ERA with 29 walks and 80 strikeouts in 73 innings pitched over 14 appearances (13 starts).
