Luke Raley Not In Rays Starting Lineup
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Luke Raley will start Wednesday's contest against the San Francisco Giants on the bench. Harold Ramirez will take over as the designated hitter and will bat sixth in the order against Giants right-hander Ryan Walker. In his first real extended playing time in the big leagues in 2022, Raley has delivered, slashing .255/.340/.507 with an .846 OPS, 16 home runs, 20 doubles, two triples, 42 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 48 runs scored in 325 plate appearances over 94 games. He hasn't been as good in the second half with a .213 average (16-for-75) with only one home run and six RBI in 24 games (22 starts), but the 28-year-old left-handed slugger should still be in the team's starting lineup on most days against right-handed pitching.
