WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

Justin Carter's top daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for 5/27/23. Expert WNBA DFS advice for DraftKings and FanDuel and today's best bets.

After two games last night, the WNBA is back with another two-game slate on Saturday, starting with a big early afternoon matchup between the Sun and Liberty, and then followed by a rematch of Thursday's exciting Sparks/Aces contest.

If you're looking for WNBA daily fantasy picks and some betting advice this season, then you're in the right place. I'll be here providing picks for any slate with two or more games, as well as adding a little betting advice as well.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slates lock on 5/27/2023 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Breanna Stewart (New York Liberty) - vs CON - DK: $12,000, FD: $9,500

After a relatively quiet first game for the Libs, Stewart went out and set a franchise scoring record in her second contest, putting up 45 points on 15-for-21 shooting with 12 rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal.

The best version of the Liberty this season will be the version that leans on Stewart as their top offensive threat, with Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu playing important but complementary scoring roles.

It's also worth noting that Stewart has double-digit rebounds in every game so far, and is averaging 1.5 steals per game.

Dearica Hamby (Los Angeles Sparks) - @ LV - DK: $6,700, FD: $4,900

This play comes down to whether or not Nneka Ogwumike plays. She was out on Thursday with a non-COVID illness, and Hamby started in her place.

She played 27 minutes in that game, going 3-for-12 from the floor with 11 points while also adding in five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. The Sparks, when healthy, have a pretty deep frontcourt, but they aren't healthy, as Azura Stevens remains out and Ogwumike's illness might still be around Saturday. In that case, they'll need to lean more heavily than normal on Hamby, just like they did Thursday.

Kiah Stokes (Las Vegas Aces) - vs LAS - DK: $6,700, FD: $4,600

The Aces have a star-studded starting unit, but they still need some bench production, which is where Kiah Stokes comes in. She's played 20-plus minutes in both games so far and has pulled down nine rebounds in both contests, plus blocked a shot in both games.

That's basically her role: play defensive, grab boards. In terms of scoring, she's 3-for-4 from the floor this season, so there's not a ton that you can count on there, but if the flow of the offense leads to even just four or five field goal attempts, her efficiency inside can lead to a really solid day.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces) - vs LAS - DK: $10,000, FD: $7,300

Young's price on DraftKings has taken a leap, but she's still pretty underpriced over on FanDuel. I'd play her on either platform because of how she's started the season, but thought that was worth pointing out.

Young has played really well this season, averaging 26.5 points per game through the first two games for Vegas, as well as 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.0 blocks. 2.5 steals. and 3.5 threes per contest.

The confidence she's showing really stands out. Young's always been a good ball-handler and defender, but these last two seasons she's blossomed as a scorer, and this year she just has no fear when it comes to letting it fly.

Lexie Brown (Los Angeles Sparks) - @ LV - DK: $7,700, FD: $6,000

The Sparks are only 1-1, but they've really impressed me, blowing out the Mercury and then holding their own against the defending champion Aces. Lexie Brown has been a big part of that.

Brown played 31 minutes in Thursday's loss to Vegas, scoring 15 points on 6-for-9 shooting to go along with three rebounds, five assists, and three steals. The Sparks will likely continue to get the ball in Brown's hands, and her role could increase on Saturday because Jordin Canada (illness) is questionable for this one, which would increase the time Brown would spend as a primary ball handler.

Tiffany Hayes (Connecticut Sun) - vs NY - DK: $7,200, FD: $5,800

It took a couple games for her to integrate into this team, but last time out against Washington was a good example of what we can usually expect from Tiffany Hayes. In 31 minutes of action, she scored 13 points on 4-for-8 shooting and was 3-for-6 from deep. She also grabbed three rebounds, dished out eight assists, and added a steal as well.

The Sun just haven't really turned to their backup guards much. Tyasha Harris played just seven minutes last game, while Leigha Brown played six and Dijonai Carrington didn't see the floor. This team looks poised to rely heavily on their starting backcourt of Hayes and Natisha Hiedeman, which is good for both players in DFS.

WNBA Bet of the Day

Every day, I'll provide my favorite bet. I'll be using DraftKings Sportsbook for the odds.

Season Record: 1-3

It looked like for three quarters that we'd hit Wings -6.5 with ease, but the Storm came alive in the fourth, winning the quarter by seven points to leave the final score as a four-point Wings victory. So close.

Connecticut Sun First Half +4

The Liberty showed last time out that they're a really good team, shaking off the slow start they had against the Mystics and blowing out Indiana. But the Sun are also a good team, sitting at 3-0 on the year. This should be a close one throughout, but I feel like New York could put some things away late possibly, so I prefer betting the first half here.
