DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (4/14/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on April 14th, 2022. Brian Entrekin's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back to another edition of the FREE DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks. We have a six-game slate on DK and an eight-game slate on FD (WSH/PIT and PHI/MIA) to attack tonight. The FD slate starts at 6:35 pmEST, and the DK slate starts at 7:05 pmEST, so make sure you get those FD lineups locked in early. It is a fun slate with a couple of high-end pitching options with some great spots to target bats like Coors Field.

Most will look to Coors Field for their bats, and it makes sense as they are too cheap on DK, at least reasonably priced on FD. Outside of Coors, the Dodgers are in a smash spot, and the Angels are close behind with their matchup in Texas. Tonight is a nice slate to be contrarian with teams like the Jays and Yankees in tough matchups, but we know their offenses can always smash. Following roster rates and looking for a couple of contrarian angles makes for some nice GPP builds.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for Fanduel and DraftKings on 4/14/2022. The lineup will range from some elite players to mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Charlie Morton - P, ATL at SD ($9,300 DK, $9,000 FD)

Morton is coming off a strong 2022 debut where he threw 5.1 innings on 78 pitches. He allowed two runs while striking out five on his way to a solid DFS performance. Tonight he gets another nice matchup in San Diego versus the Padres. A Padres team that struck out seven times versus Logan Webb on Wednesday and the season is striking out over 25% versus RHP. The Padres are also struggling in the power department versus RHP as they have an ISO of .074 to start the season. Many people will pay up for Buehler, but I will look to Morton as my higher-priced ace tonight.

Shohei Ohtani - P, LAA at TEX ($7,900 DK, $10,800 FD)

Ohtani is on the mound again tonight, and at least FD got the pricing right, while DK once again gave us a gift. Ohtani threw 4.2 innings on 80 pitches on his debut with nine strikeouts versus the Astros. He dominated the Astros, only allowing a 62.5% contact rate with a 15% SwStr. He takes on a Rangers team striking out less than 20% of the time versus RHP on this short season but is still struggling versus righties with a .214 batting average and .087 ISO. Ohtani should be chalky on DK, and I will eat that chalk, but he is not a lock on FD at his price point as he may only go five innings, which lessons his point production.

Other options: Joan Adon (FD Only $6,700), Joe Musgrove (DK $7,600, FD $10,300), Walker Buehler (DK $9,700, FD $10,500), Kyle Gibson (FD Only $9,800)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

C.J. Cron - 1B, COL vs. Justin Steele ($4,500 DK, $4,100 FD)

Cron continues to rake to start the season, returns to Coors, and has a nice matchup versus the lefty Steele. So far this season, Cron is hitting .300 with two home runs, a .400 ISO, and a 1.033 OPS. On the season, he is hitting .667 with a 2.214 OPS in a short sample, but last year he hit .311 with a .977 OPS. He has always hit LHP well, and tonight should be no different. The Rockies will be a great stack, a chalky stack, and Cron should be a major piece of that stack as the cleanup hitter for the Rockies.

Gavin Lux - 2B/SS/OF, LAD vs. Luis Cessa ($2,900 DK, $2,700 FD)

Lux has had a solid start to the 2022 season. On Wednesday, he hit his first home run of the season and hit .353 with a .235 ISO. He returns home tonight to face the Reds and gets a great matchup versus Cessa as the opener and Reiver Sanmartin, who will follow Cessa. Sanmartin is coming off a disastrous start versus the Braves, where he allowed five runs on four hits and five walks over 2.1 innings. Sanmartin is not that bad of a pitcher, but he will go up against a powerful Dodgers offense, and Lux is a great value piece of that offense.

Bobby Witt Jr. - 3B/SS, KC vs. Casey Mize ($2,500 DK, $2,600 FD)

Most will look at Witt's stats and turn away from rostering him. That makes the value even sweeter. Sure, Witt is only hitting .100, but both hits are doubles. He has three runs, three RBI, and even a stolen base. He has scored nine or more fantasy points in three of five games, which is great value for his price point. He will face Mize, who allowed four runs on seven hits and only two strikeouts in his debut. He allowed a 15% barrel rate and 55% hard-hit rate in that debut, which bodes well for Witt and possibly some other sneaky Royals players. Do not slip on Witt's value, as his price tag will rise once he starts to rake. Be ahead of the curve with Witt.

Jack Mayfield- 2B/SS/3B, LAA at Dane Dunning ($3,000 DK, $2,600)

Mayfield has not been playing every day, but he has raked in the three games he has played. He is 4-10 with a double, triple, and a home run. He has a 1.611 OPS to go with a 14.3% barrel rate. In his debut, Dunning allowed three runs over five innings with an 82% contact rate and 50% hard-hit rate. If Dunning slips up, Mayfield and the Angels could feast. At worst, Mayfield and the Angels should get four to five innings of the Rangers' bullpen, which is always a plus. Mayfield is not a lock, but he is a nice tournament value on tonight's small slate.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Connor Joe- 1B/OF, COL vs. Justin Steele ($3,400 DK, $3,500 FD)

It is currently Connor Joe's world, and we live in it. He has hit safely in four of the first five games and, more importantly, has hit leadoff over the last three games. Joe has two home runs, and seven runs scored early in the season as he continues to put up massive DFS scoring games. Joe is striking out less than 17% of the time while also walking 17% with a .368 ISO and 1.143 OPS. Joe is also barreling the ball 13.3% of the time with a 40% hard-hit rate. Last season Joe hit .306 with a .245 ISO and a .941 OPS. Joe is a near lock tonight and is cash viable as well.

Seiya Suzuki - OF, CHC at Kyle Freeland ($4,800 DK, $3,600)

Suzuki has come to the majors and crushed right out of the gate. He is hitting .400 to start the season with three home runs and a 24% walk rate. His .600 ISO, 50% barrel rate, and 50% hard-hit rate are ridiculous. Now, he heads into his first series in Coors and takes on Freeland, who allowed five runs over 3.2 innings in his debut. He allowed 9.1% barrels and a 63.6% hard-hit rate on a 75% contact rate. Last season he allowed RHH to hit .276 with 1.7 HR/9. Suzuki is one of the top plays tonight and is obviously a part of your Cubs stacks.

Austin Meadows- OF, DET at Zack Greinke ($4,700 DK, $3,200 FD)

Meadows is off to a solid start to the 2022 season with his new team in Detroit. He has hit safely in all five games this season, with multiple hits in three games and a .471 average. Meadows has scored double-digit fantasy points in three games and is in line for another nice game versus Greinke. He has hit RHP well in his career with an average of .250 or better in four of five seasons and an ISO over .200 each season. Greinke is more of a pitch-to-contact pitcher, which bodes well for Meadows and the Tigers.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Colorado Rockies  vs. Chicago Cubs (Justin Steele, LHP)

Coors Field will be a popular stack tonight, and the Rockies should lead the way. If you eat the chalk, then target Cron and Joe, then piece it together with Elias Diaz, Randal Grichuk, Kris Bryant, and maybe some sneaky plays like Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon. You can obviously bring it back with the Cubs, but the Rockies are my main focus on this slate.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Cincinnati Reds (Luis Cessa, RHP)

If fading Coors, then the Dodgers are an outstanding stack tonight. We saw the Dodgers go off in Minnesota on Wednesday, and now they get another great matchup at home versus the Reds. Mookie Betts, Trea Turner, Will Smith, and Max Muncy are great plays, but the values in Lux and Cody Bellinger are hard to ignore.

Los Angeles Angels at Texas Rangers (Dane Dunning, RHP)

There are a few contrarian stacks tonight, and the Angels are my favorite. I already discussed Dunning's contact issues, not to mention a bad Rangers bullpen. Start with Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Jared Walsh if stacking the Angels. Then, suppose digging deeper than Mayfield, Jo Adell, and some nice value in Brandon Marsh. The Angels are a nice mix of pricey plays and values while going low-rostered tonight.
