BALLER MOVE: Target as OF5
ANALYSIS: Travis Snider's role on his new team, the Orioles, remains unknown, but he should get his chances. The lefty hitter may platoon to begin with, but he can still hit most days, thanks to his pinch-hitting skills.
Snider was tied for fifth in all of baseball with 13 hits as a pinch-hitter, including two homers and eight runs batted in. Snider hit .289 with a .524 SLG over 166 AB from July 22 to the end of the year. He also became much more patient at the plate, improved his walk rate and decreased his once-worrisome strikeout rate. In a full, 600-AB season, that pace would land him somewhere around 25 HR and 70 RBI. If this strong finish is a sign of things to come for the 27-year old, he should lock-up a starting spot in the Orioles’ lineup.
I would recommend targeting Snider late in a Roto league or a deep H2H league (14-team or AL only). Snider is not a breakout candidate, but I will be happy to draft him as a fifth OF and see if he can rekindle the flame he lit last summer.
