Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap
Welcome to the Saturday, June 22nd edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox. Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss […]
Top 30 Impact Prospects for Redraft Leagues (Week 12)
Believe it or not, the midpoint of the minor league baseball season is here. We’re starting to see short-season leagues get underway, 2019 amateur draft picks are signing their first pro contracts, minor league all-star breaks are happening, and prospect promotions are also picking up steam. Major league teams are also continuing to dip into […]
Adam Eaton is Absent on Friday
Washington Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves. This is normal for Eaton to get the day off against the left-handed starter. Michael A. Taylor will cover center field and bat seventh versus lefty Dallas Keuchel. Taylor does not have enough fantasy value to […]
Joe Ross Recalled on Friday
Washington Nationals pitcher Joe Ross has been recalled from the minors on Friday. He is the favorite to draw the start on Sunday versus the Atlanta Braves. However, Ross will be available out of the bullpen until then. He has a 9.22 ERA over 16 relief appearances, so he's not a fantasy asset to anyone. […]
Two-Start Pitcher Streamers: Week 13
This is an interesting week for two-start streamers. In previous weeks there have tended to be a bunch of serviceable to decent options somewhere in the five to 10 percent ownership range, but this week that's really not the case. But never fear, we've still got five streamers to take a look at for Week […]

Washington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman (foot) could begin his rehab assignment this weekend, according to manager Dave Martinez. Zimmerman is dealing with plantar fasciitis, but has been increasing his workload this week without any setbacks. He's been banged up this season, but the Nationals are hopeful they can get Zimmerman back by mid-July.

Stephen Strasburg Being Moved To Friday
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg will be pushed back a day to start on Friday against the Braves, with Erick Fedde going on Thursday against the Phillies. Strasburg has allowed at least five earned runs in two of three starts this month to the White Sox and Nationals, so perhaps Washington felt like he […]
Victor Robles Reaches Double-Digit Homers
Washington Nationals outfielder Victor Robles hit his 10th home run of the season Wednesday, a solo shot to add insurance in a 2-0 Nationals victory. It was only Robles' second home run since May 15, as the rookie has been struggling mightily of late, resulting in just a .236/.304/.413 including Wednesday. Nonetheless, he remains a […]
Max Scherzer Dominates With Busted Face
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer threw seven scoreless innings and came away with the victory in Washington's 2-0 win over the Phillies Wednesday, completing a sweep of a doubleheader. Scherzer broke his nose and got a black eye Tuesday and looked a mess on the mound, but that didn't affect the stuff one bit: […]
Patrick Corbin Gets Back On Track Against Phillies
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin pitched seven innings of one-run ball Wednesday afternoon in a 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Corbin, who entered the game with an 11.37 ERA in his past three starts, allowed a solo home run to Scott Kingery in the first inning, but settled down from then on. Corbin […]
Juan Soto Has Big Day Wednesday
Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base in Washington's 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday. He is now hitting .294/.393/.502 on the year. The steal was Soto's fourth of the season (in four attempts) in 62 […]
Brian Dozier, Gerardo Parra Lead Charge Wednesday Afternoon
Washington Nationals second baseman Brian Dozier and outfielder Gerardo Parra drove in five of the team's six runs in a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Wednesday in the first game of a doubleheader. Both had an RBI double, Parra in the fourth inning and Dozer in the seventh, before they hit back-to-back home runs […]

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/19/19): MLB DFS Lineups
Welcome to Wednesday baseball! We have an exciting 10-game slate on our hands with plenty to look at. Max Scherzer and Lucas Giolito are the top two pitchers on the slate and are similarly priced, which seems like a different universe altogether. We then have Rich Hill, who has a phenomenal match-up and will be […]
Max Scherzer Likely to Pitch Wednesday Night
Despite a broken nose and a black eye, Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer is preparing to pitch Wednesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies. Scherzer bunted a ball off his face during batting practice Tuesday and was later diagnosed with the broken nose. He's not officially starting yet, but you can see why Scherzer has […]
Power Hitting Risers & Fallers for Week 12 - Buy or Sell?
Welcome to this week's Power Hitting Risers & Fallers. All stats are full season through Monday, June 17 (unless otherwise noted). Today's analysis mostly revolves around xSLG-SLG differential during hot and cold streaks. Your weekly reminders: EVAB (pronounced ee-vab or ev-ab) is simply exit velocity on "air balls" - meaning fly balls and line drives, […]
Ryan Zimmerman Running The Bases
Washington Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman (foot) ran the bases on Tuesday and will do so again on Wednesday. If he comes out of that without setbacks, the Nationals can start thinking about sending him on a rehab assignment. Zimmerman has been out since April 27 with plantar fasciitis and was hitting just .213/.302/.373 with […]
Max Scherzer Has Broken Nose
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer suffered a broken nose when a ball bounced back at him after he bunted during batting practice on Tuesday. Manager Davey Martinez initially thought Scherzer could still pitch Wednesday, but with this diagnosis, his status is now unknown. Fortunately, a CAT scan came back negative. Still, this is a […]
Max Scherzer Hit By Ball Pre-Game, Expected To Be Fine
Washington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer suffered a bit of a fluke injury Tuesday, getting hit in the face by a ball during bunting drills. Scherzer was checked on by trainers but will very likely make his next scheduled start, on Wednesday in the late game of a doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies. Scherzer has […]
Patrick Corbin Looks to Get Back in Win Column
Washington Nationals left-hander Patrick Corbin hopes to take the mound Tuesday night against the Philadelphia Phillies after having his start Monday wiped out by a postponement. Corbin has been scuffling and has lost his last three starts, while raising his ERA to a 4.11 in the process. The Phillies are a boom-or-bust matchup, as they […]
Welcome (Back) to the Show, Willie Calhoun
Despite being 5’8”, Willie Calhoun is widely regarded as one of the best pure hitters in baseball. However, Calhoun’s size and limited defensive abilities have prevented him from earning elite-prospect status and getting the same hype as similarly-talented batters. Despite his limitations and that perception, the reality is that Calhoun profiles as a potential .290 […]
