Yonder Alonso Back on the Active Roster on Monday
Cleveland Indians first baseman Yonder Alonso was activated from the family medical emergency list on Monday. Alonso missed the weekend series against the Twins, but is back for the start of the week. Greg Allen was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Alonso on the active roster.
Melky Cabrera Elects Free Agency
Outfielder Mekly Cabrera elected free agency rather than taking an assignment to Triple-A Columbus with the Cleveland Indians. Cabrera signed a minor league deal with Cleveland but struggled to a .207/.242/.293 batting line and was designated for assignment. He'll hope to latch on as depth with another organization, but might have a hard time finding […]
Carlos Carrasco's Elbow Tests Return Encouraging Results
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco underwent tests on his elbow and had everything come back negative. Carrasco had to leave Saturday's start after he was hit by a line drive, but it seems he has avoided any serious injury. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list, and it seems he should be ready […]

DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/18/18): MLB DFS Lineups
We haven’t had a full 15-game Monday slate since Memorial Day and that won’t be any different this week. There are 10 full games (and one resumed game) taking place on Monday. Four of those matchups have an over/under of at least nine total runs. The game in Colorado (NYM/COL) is actually tied with another […]
Melky Cabrera Opts out of Contract, Becomes Free Agent
Cleveland Indians veteran outfielder Melky Cabrera has decided to become a free agent. Cabrera was being sent down to Triple-A Columbus for the foreseeable future and asked the Indians to release him. Cabrera has had a dismal 2018 season as he is carrying a .207 batting average to go along with zero home runs and […]
FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/18/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice
We have a nice medium sized slate for Monday with a number of viable pitching options. As a result, a lot of the hitters worth targeting are concentrated on a few teams. Equally important will be hitting on value plays and there a few punt-plays worth considering, with a few youngsters in Kansas City highlighting […]
Trading Up - Edwin Diaz
If you've read this column before, you know my standard guidance is to sell rather than buy closers. Today we take a look at the number one closer I'd actively target in a trade. I’m working on another article right now titled: “If You Only Buy One.” The idea behind it is that if you […]
AL-Only Waiver Wire Team of the Week: MLB Week 12
Every week in baseball, a significant player will hit the disabled list, slip into a slump, or get traded out of a good spot. How fantasy owners adapt to these situations can make or break the season as a whole. One lousy add might not hurt the long-term standing of a team, but failing to […]
Week 12 Start/Sit Matchups - Starting Pitchers
You know what it is--it's my updated starts/sits column for Week 12! Your friendly neighborhood @Roto_Dubs is back again this year with his weekly starting pitcher matchups. This is our fifth year now writing this weekly column, helping fantasy baseball managers pick the best pitchers weekly. Below are the projected starting pitching matchups for Week 12, which […]
Shane Bieber Allows a Hit Parade but Only One Run
Cleveland Indians rookie starting pitcher Shane Bieber missed a quality start by one out, pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing just one run, but 10 hits and a walk. He struck out seven. Bieber was able to pitch around trouble, but 10 hits and a walk is certainly not a sustainable way to get outs. Bieber […]
Jason Kipnis Out of the Lineup on Sunday
Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis is not in Sunday's starting lineup. He's only 2-for-14 since returning from a neck injury, so Sunday is likely a day off to try to get him right. It's been a struggle all season for Kipnis, who may start losing more playing time if Erik Gonzalez continues to play […]
Shane Bieber To Start Sunday Against The Twins
The Cleveland Indians have recalled starting pitcher Shane Bieber from Triple-A Columbus to start Sunday's game against the Twins. Bieber was set to start Sunday's game, but the move ended up coming as a corresponding one after Carlos Carrasco was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right elbow contusion. Bieber made his Major […]
Carlos Carrasco Heads To DL With Right Elbow Contusion
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right elbow contusion Sunday. Carrasco was struck directly in the arm by a comeback line drive in the second inning of Saturday's game and immediately exited. Shane Beiber will be recalled from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move. The injury […]
The Cut List (Week 12): Time to Let Go?
Welcome to Week 12 of the Cut List. This week I take a look at Jed Lowrie, Justin Smoak, Yoan Moncada, and Mitch Moreland. What’s the common denominator here? They’re barely standard league viable and they were all super hot at one point or another this season. Lowrie was arguably the fantasy MVP in April, […]
Week 12 Waiver Wire - First Base (1B) and Third Base (3B)
The Corner Store is open! It is week 12 and the options are quite limited. We've gotten to the part of the season where reality has set in. Replacement corner infielders who once were performing well beyond their skills have come back down to earth. With a basic junkyard of options on the waiver wire, it […]
Kevan Smith (C, CHW) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues OWNED IN: 1% of leagues ANALYSIS: Chicago White Sox catcher Kevan Smith has been recently recalled to Chicago and getting a run of games. Still, Smith is relatively under-owned and looks to have a key spot on this team. In all fairness, Smith might not be a top […]
Catching Heat - What To Do With Fantasy Catchers
To be blunt, catchers in fantasy baseball have been a huge disappointment this year. The lack of production from the position is leaving massive holes in some lineups and leaving owners scrambling to make up the difference. At the same time, there is not much owners can do when the position as a whole is […]
Buy or Sell - Undervalued and Overvalued Players for Week 12
Injuries suck. We've always known this, but the move to a 10-day disabled list last year along with numerous injuries to high-profile players this year have slapped fantasy owners in the face with the hard, cold hand of reality. Injuries can cause huge shifts in value for fantasy players, so it's always wise to assess […]
Tyler Naquin Activated From DL on Friday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Tyler Naquin (hamstring) has been activated from the 10-day disabled list on Friday. He missed roughly five weeks due to a left hamstring strain. Naquin will start in center field and bat eighth on Friday. Yonder Alonso (personal) has been placed on the 3-7 day emergency family leave list, so Naquin will […]
Yonder Alonso Could Miss Entire Weekend Series
Cleveland Indians first baseman Yonder Alonso (personal) has been placed on the medial family emergency list. Alonso is expected to miss the entire weekend series against the Minnesota Twins. Erik Gonzalez is batting ninth and playing first base for the Indians on Friday. Alonso brings along some power, but owners in deeper leagues are probably […]

FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/15/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice
A 15-game Main slate Friday is pretty well deserved after that weak four-gamer we had to deal with last night. Oh, and it's the weekend, too. Pretty sweet combination in my opinion. There are a handful of stud and stud-like pitchers at the top - so there's much to discuss. In this article, I will […]
Cody Allen Saves His 13th Game on Thursday
Cleveland Indians closer Cody Allen collected his 13th save of the season on Thursday, recording three strikeouts in a scoreless inning. He did allow a single, but the runner was unable to come around to score. Allen hasn't been perfect this season as shown by his 4.03 ERA, but he's 13-for-14 in save chances and […]
Mike Clevinger Works Seven Strong Innings on Thursday
Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger pitched well on Thursday, allowing two runs (only one earned) on five hits and a walk. He struck out 11 on the afternoon and improved to 5-2. His ERA dropped to 3.15 and he now holds an 80:30 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's been one of the most pleasant surprises in […]
DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/15/18): MLB DFS Lineups
Thankfully, we have a full 15-game slate to work with on Friday as we construct our DraftKings DFS lineup. There is some top tier pitching as Vegas has given three teams the status of “heavy favorite” (at least -200 odds): Astros, Indians, and Dodgers. Don’t be surprised if I have one of those arms in […]

Brandon Guyer Activated from the Disabled List on Thursday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Brandon Guyer (neck) was activated from the disabled list on Thursday. Melky Cabrera was designated for assignment in order to make room on the roster. Guyer missed three weeks because of a neck strain and should return to his usual role as a platoon player. He's been struggling this year, posting a […]
Melky Cabrera Designated for Assignment on Thursday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Melky Cabrera was designated for assignment on Thursday. With Brandon Guyer (neck) returning from the disabled list, Cabrera was no longer needed. Cabrera signed a minor league deal with Cleveland and struggled to do anything after getting called up, slashing just .207/.242/.293 without a home run in 66 plate appearances. He'll look […]
