The Chicago White Sox have named James Shields Friday’s starter versus the Houston Astros. Shields went two-thirds of an inning and suffered the loss out of the bullpen Wednesday versus the Oakland Athletics. Shields should be avoided Friday and should be on the waiver wire in most mixed formats.
Matt Davidson Won’t Be In Friday’s Lineup
Chicago White Sox designated hitter Matt Davidson will be on the bench Friday versus the Houston Astros. Catcher Welington Castillo will be Friday’s designated hitter and catcher Omar Narvaez will bat eighth and be behind the plate. Davidson got off to a hot start but is now four for his last 29.
