The Chicago White Sox have announced that pitcher Chris Volstad will start Tuesday versus the Seattle Mariners. Volstad has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen this year, but has plenty of starting experience under his belt. Volstad has a 4.70 ERA in 7 2/3 innings this year. Danny Farquhar Transferred To 60-Day Disabled List

Chicago White Sox relief pitcher Danny Farquhar (brain) has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list. Farquhar suffered a brain hemorrhage during Friday’s game and was rushed to the hospital. He is currently listed in critical but stable condition. Our thoughts go out to Farquhar and his family during this tough situation.

Miguel Gonzalez Placed On 10-Day Disabled List

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation. Gonzalez has a 12.71 ERA this year and should remain on the waiver wire even when he is activated. Pitcher Chris Beck will replace Gonzalez on the roster for now and can be avoided.
