RIVAL Over/Under Picks – Wednesday, March 29, 2023
Luka Doncic ended up playing so naturally Kyrie Irving fell wildly below expectations. Chris Paul put up the assists needed to hit some over bets across a few sites, but we watched him miss wide-open shot after wide-open shot. It wasn’t a good night for him and he still just missed his projected. Both Bobby Portis and Mitchell Robinson did exactly what we thought they would so overall not a bad day. Just some bad breaks. Nothing new in the NBA-betting world.
Dillon Brooks UNDER 22.45 fantasy points
Whenever Dillon Brooks hits an over it’s because he pulled a high-scoring game out of nowhere. Recently his production has been all over the place and his shot attempts are reflective of a player the team tests out each night. He’ll take enough shots to see if he’s found a groove, but that it’s not a strategy the Grizzlies are excited to implement. It’s more of a courtesy since Jaren Jackson Jr., Xavier Tillman, Desmond Bane, and Ja Morant are playing so well and Brooks’ offense is currently falling by the wayside. He embraces the defense-first role anyway so this isn’t a dig, it’s just the natural order of things when you have a well-balanced team.
Luguentz Dort UNDER 25.35 fantasy points
Against the Pistons, who are 2-20 over their last 22 games, it’s easy to like the over when Luguentz Dort usage is so consistent. It never fluctuates outside of a certain threshold and the Thunder make sure he gets plenty of touches each game. This is sounding like advice on taking the over, but despite losing most of their games, the Pistons haven’t been losing by much. They keep games close and that means someone on the Thunder will have to play a good bit of defense. Dort willingly steps up as that guy and is first in line to say “You take all the shots and I’ll be in the corner if you need me.” Josh Giddey, The Ja Williams duo, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should have no problems dissecting this defense without the extra help.
Desmond Bane OVER 36.29 fantasy points
Even if Ja Morant plays, taking usage and attempts away from Desmond Bane is not the way the Grizzlies have been functioning lately. Bane has been the backbone of the spacing surrounding this team and against the Clippers, it’s hard not to like his upside when he’s proven it in the past. Assuming that Los Angeles won’t stick Kawhi Leonard on him, and even if it is the case, Bane is able to continually produce against tough matchups. Making contested shots is part of his skill-set and he’s peaking at the right time.
Domantas Sabonis OVER 46.68 fantasy points
De’Aaron Fox is the best bet from this game, but he hasn’t been posted yet and Domantas Sabonis is more than capable of hitting his over tonight as well. The Kings are playing great basketball and the Trail Blazers are heading down a chaotic spiral now that their best player has been sidelined for the rest of the season. Assuming Sacramento still wants to add wins to their record, playing against Portland is going to be a launch-pad for stat-chasers.
