Houston Texans - NFL Betting Analysis

This week, the Texans will look to keep things rolling after picking up a 13-6 win over their division rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Heading into the game, the Texans were 7.0 point underdogs, resulting in both a straight up and ATS victory. The two teams combined point total of 19 remained below the betting line of 43. The Texans and Jaguars entered the 4th quarter all tied at 6-6. But Houston outscored Jacksonville by 7 to pull out the victory. Through 5 games, the Texans have an ATS record of 3-1-1. So far, they have an over-under record of 2-3. This week's betting total of 45.5 is right in line with their previous games.

As the Texans prepare to take on Las Vegas, they are ranked 26th in points per game at 17.2. Look for the team to put together a strong offensive performance vs a Raiders defense giving up 130 points per game. Although the Texans come into the game ranked just 26th in pass yards per game, they will benefit from facing a Las Vegas secondary that is vulnerable through the air. We expect Houston to have an above-average performance in the passing attack. On the ground, Houston figure to have their fair share of problems as they come into the game as the 22nd-ranked team in rush yards per game. In addition, they are facing a defense that has done a good job stopping the run.

Las Vegas Raiders - NFL Betting Analysis

Last week, the Raiders lost in a divsional matchup against Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 30-29. Las Vegas entered the game as 7.0 point underdogs, giving them an ATS win despite the straight up loss. With their combined 51 points, the two teams exceeded the betting over-under number of 51. The Raiders were not able to make a comeback in last week's game, as they trailed Kansas City by a score of 24-20 heading into the final quarter. Through 5 games, the Raiders have an ATS record of 2-3. So far, they have an over-under record of 3-1-1. This week's betting total of 45.5 is slightly lower than the line in their previous games.

As the Raiders prepare to take on Houston, they have played well on offense, ranking 6th in points per game at 25.0. Even though they have a tough matchup against the league's 4th ranked defense, look for Las Vegas to continue their strong offensive play. In the passing game, the Raiders will need to be on top of their game, as they are matched up against a Houston defense that has been tough on opposing quarterbacks. On the ground, our projections show that the Texans offense will have its problems. Even though they have a decent matchup against a Houston, look for Las Vegas to come up with fewer rush yards than their season average of 121.4.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Texans vs. Raiders

Looking back at the recent matchups between Houston and Las Vegas, the Raiders have taken 3 of the last 5 contests. The over-under record in these games sits at 4-1, with the average scoring total coming in at 46.8 points. Last year, the Texans and Raiders did not play each other.

The Las Vegas Raiders have gone 3-2-0 vs the spread in these games. The Texans' offense has averaged 25.4 points per game over the 5 most recent meetings with Las Vegas, compared to the Raiders at 21.4.

Across their previous 3 regular season games, the Texans have a straight up record of just 1-2. In a similar fashion, the team's record vs the spread in these games was just 1-1-1. Their over-under record in this span was 2-1.

Although Houston has a straight up record of 1-2 in their last 3 road games, they have not held up as well vs the spread going 2-0-1. The team averaged 14.0 points per game in these games.

Through their 3 most recent regular season matchups, the Raiders have gone 1-2. In a similar fashion, the team's record vs the spread in these games was just 2-1. Their over-under record in this span was 3-0.

Across their last 3 home contests, Las Vegas has been good against the spread posting a mark of 2-1. Their overall mark in these games was 2-1, while averaging 30.0 points per game.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: Raiders -7.0

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Under 45.5
