St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Sam Tuivailala was placed on the 10-day disabled list due to a left knee strain. He'd pitched four innings so far this season, allowing two runs. In a corresponding move, Mike Mayers was called up to take Tuivailala's place as a middle reliever.
