Brandon Morrow Blows His First Save On Saturday
Chicago Cubs closer Brandon Morrow gave up two runs on Saturday to blow his first game of the season. Morrow had not allowed a run in 10 innings coming into Saturday's performance and is now 7-for-8 in save opportunities with a 1.64 ERA. His role as the Cubs closer remains secured.
Mark Melancon On Track To Return When Eligible
San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Mark Melancon threw 20 pitches in his first bullpen session since landing on the DL earlier this season and says he feels "100%". He looks to be reinstated when eligible on 5/25. However, with his injury history and Hunter Strickland's great performance filling in for him, Melcanon will most likely […]
Oliver Drake Traded To Indians For Cash
Former Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Oliver Drake has been traded to the Cleveland Indians in exchange for 110,000 dollars. Drake was recently designated for assignment and cleared waivers by the Brewers and now will join the Indians bullpen. Drake is currently rocking a 6.39 ERA in 11 appearances this year so he will look to […]
Jake McGee Melts Down Against Mets
Colorado Rockies setup man Jake McGee struggled mightily against the Mets on Friday, and it almost cost his team the game. McGee faced two batters in the ninth inning of an 8-5 game, and he promptly gave up a double and RBI single. He was replaced by Wade Davis who also struggled, but Davis eventually […]
Wade Davis Labors Through 12th Save
Colorado Rockies closer Wade Davis successfully tallied his 12th save of the season on Friday, but it was an exciting one. After already surrendering two hits and a walk, Davis struck out Michael Conforto to end the game with the tying run on third and winning run on second. Davis hasn’t been quite as sharp […]

Buy or Sell - Underowned and Overowned Players for Week 6
It was nice to see Drew Pomeranz toss a quality start (finally) and prove that he's not a carcass of a former Rockies pitcher like Jhoulys Chacin. This, however, is a disclaimer that some of these buy-low/sell-high candidates may not pan out right away. Or ever. I'm still hoping that as soon as Domingo Santana […]
Drew Hutchison Provides Solid Relief In Loss
After Nick Pivetta was knocked around by the Washington Nationals on Friday night, the Philadelphia Phillies turned to Drew Hutchison for some stability and length. The 27-year-old made his ninth appearance of the season, which would turn out to be his longest. He would go five innings, allowing just one run on three hits, walking […]
Junior Guerra Falls Back to Earth in Loss
Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Junior Guerra went five innings on Friday, giving up six hits, five earned runs and four walks while striking out four in the 6-4 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates. After allowing one run or less in his first four starts of the season, he gave up a season-high five runs in […]
Tommy Kahnle Begins Throwing
On the disabled list since the second week of April, New York Yankees reliever Tommy Kahnle (shoulder) has taken a major step in his rehab, as he began throwing earlier this week. The 28-year-old went down with right shoulder tendonitis, his first injury in four seasons. Manager Aaron Boone is hopeful that Kahnle could return […]
Hector Santiago Will Start Saturday
The Chicago White Sox have announced that left-hander Hector Santiago will start Saturday versus the Twins. It will be Santiago’s second start, as he has mainly pitched out of the bullpen. For the season, Santiago has a 3.48 ERA in 20 2/3 innings. He is nothing more than a streaming option in the deepest of […]
Shawn Kelley Throws Bullpen Session Friday
Washington Nationals reliever Shawn Kelley (elbow) threw a bullpen session Friday. Kelley has been dealing with ulnar nerve irritation for a couple of weeks. According to reports, Kelley felt good after the session. He is eligible to come off the disabled list Friday but might need a couple of days to work his way back […]
Jorge Lopez Called Up To Brewers
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Jorge Lopez has been called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs as a response to Zach Davies being added to the 10-day disabled list. Davies will most likely not be out for any longer than the 10 days on the DL, so Lopez will fill in as a bullpen arm with the […]
Tanner Rainey Recalled By Reds
The Cincinnati Reds recalled right-hander Tanner Rainey from Triple-A Louisville on Friday. Rainey will take the roster spot vacated by Amir Garrett, who was placed on the bereavement list on Thursday. Rainey made two appearances with the Reds earlier in 2018, allowing seven runs in two innings while striking out two. Rainey is a former […]
Matt Harvey Designated For Assignment
It feels crazy to even write this considering how good he was not all that long ago, but the New York Mets are designating pitcher Matt Harvey for assignment. The team asked him to accept an assignment to the minor leagues, which Harvey refused. It’s a tragic end to the former Dark Knight’s tenure in […]
Alexi Ogando Called Up to Join the Indians
The Cleveland Indians called up relief pitcher Alexi Ogando from Triple-A Columbus on Friday. Ogando signed a minor league contract with Cleveland in December and posted strong numbers in Triple-A, earning his promotion. In 18 2/3 innings across four Triple-A starts, Ogando posted a 2.89 ERA with a 14:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Even though he was […]
Jeff Beliveau Designated for Assignment on Friday
Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Jeff Beliveau was designated for assignment on Friday. Beliveau appeared in five games for Cleveland, pitching 3 1/3 innings while allowing four runs on five hits and four walks. The 31-year-old lefty will likely clear waivers and report to Triple-A Columbus.
Antonio Senzatela Optioned to Triple-A
The Colorado Rockies optioned relief pitcher Antonio Senzatela to Triple-A in a corresponding move to the activation of reliever Chris Rusin from the disabled list. Senzatela had a decent rookie campaign last year, but he’s struggled in a relief role for Colorado this season. Carrying a 6.23 ERA so far in 2018, Senzatela will use […]
Chris Rusin Activated From Disabled List
Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Chris Rusin (intercostal) was activated from the 10-day disabled list on Friday. Rusin was sidelined with a strained right intercostal muscle, but he only missed the minimum amount of time. Rusin has been a dependable short reliever for Colorado for the last couple years, and he was settling down from a […]
Alex Reyes Strong in First Game Action After Tommy John Surgery

Matt Harvey Gets Destroyed In Relief Again
New York Mets relief pitcher Matt Harvey was recently moved to the bullpen in an effort to help him find himself after consistently getting touched up as a starting pitcher, but this experiment is proving to be an equal failure. On Thursday against the Atlanta Braves, Harvey was rocked for five earned runs on three […]
Bobby Poyner Recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket
The Boston Red Sox were in need of a fresh relief arm and they get that with the 25-year-old Bobby Poyner. In order to complete the move, the team sent down reliever Marcus Walden, who pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings in Thursday's game. Poyner is only fantasy relevant in leagues that value holds, but the […]
DraftDaily Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/4/18): MLB DFS Lineups
If you've never played on Draft Daily before, it is fairly similar to the other sites, but you tend to lose more points. Points are taken away for strikeouts and home runs allowed, but you also earn points for sacrifice flies. Before creating a lineup, make sure you look over the scoring system. In this […]
Evan Marshall Called Up to Join the Cleveland Bullpen
The Cleveland Indians called up relief pitcher Even Marshall to join the bullpen. He had his contract purchased from Triple-A Columbus and needed to be added to the 40-man roster, which Cleveland was able to do by transferring Danny Salazar (shoulder) to the 60-day disabled list. Marshall has been excellent in Triple-A this season, posting […]
MLB Closers and Saves Targets for Week 6
It was quite an eventful week in bullpens across the league as some bullpens got a shot in the arm while others got a punch in the face. A closer landed on the disabled list, someone set a record by striking out all eight batters he faced, and we finally got some clarity from a […]
Holds Leagues - Waiver Wire Pickups and Adds for Week 6
While holds are even tougher to predict than saves, the players we’ll highlight today include some elite setup men to target off the waiver wire in Week 6. Bottom line: the more likely an MLB team is to win, the more likely these pitchers will be eligible to earn the holds that could be the […]
