Zion Williamson Returns From Injury With 36 Points
4 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans power forward Zion Williamson returned from a three-game absence on Tuesday, scoring a game-high 34 points on 12-for-18 shooting in a 123-107 loss to the Hawks. He made his only three-pointer and went 9-for-10 at the line with five rebounds, two assists and one steal. Williamson ended up logging 35 minutes, so his right thumb should be perfectly fine, as also shown by his performance. He's in a prime spot to perform on Wednesday when Atlanta faces Brooklyn and its inefficient defense. Playing on zero rest days seems to give Zion some extra oomph, as he averages 29.5 points per game on the tail end of a back-to-back set, which is three points more than his season average.
