3 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Zach Thompson (illness) is returning to the mound on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies after being scratched from his final outing before the All-Star break due to an illness. The 27-year-old rookie has been great for the Fish and fantasy managers in his first five starts at the big league level, going 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31/7 K/BB in 24 innings pitched. It's unlikely that Thompson will be this good for the rest of the season, but he's earned consideration as a streamer in mixed leagues because of his results so far. But he'll a much riskier play on Saturday against the Phillies in his first start back from an illness.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
