Zach Plesac Won't Require Surgery On Thumb
4 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Zach Plesac (thumb) was diagnosed with a broken bone in his right thumb earlier this week. He met with a specialist on Wednesday and it was determined that he would not need surgery on his thumb. According to Indians manager Terry Francona, the timetable for Plesac's recovery depends on how his thumb heels. Francona said that Plesac is going to be reassessed in seven to 10 days. Plesac suffered the injury in a bizarre fashion. It occurred after he ripped his shirt off a bit too aggressively. The team is yet to announce who will take his rotation spot for now.
