Zach Eflin Moving Back Into Rotation
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies pitcher Zach Eflin will return to the starting rotation after starter Jake Arrieta (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a bone spur in his right elbow. Eflin had a 1.59 ERA in 5 2/3 innings over four relief outings since being moved to the bullpen in late July. On the season, the 25-year-old is 7-11 with a 4.49 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 99 strikeouts and 34 walks over 20 starts (118 1/3 innings). He doesn't miss bats like fantasy owners would hope, but he can still be an effective spot starter in deep mixed and NL-only leagues, depending on the matchups. Take a look if you're desperate for pitching at this juncture of the season.
