Yu Darvish's Blister Issue Not Serious
6 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish dealt with a blister issue on his right ring finger in his spring action on Tuesday, but he's optimistic it's not a serious problem. "I don't feel any pain," Darvish said. "It's good for next outing." The Japanese right-hander said he will undergo laser treatment and apply medical cream to the finger before playing catch on Wednesday. Darvish allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits while striking out six and walking two in 4 2/3 innings against the Mariners. He has 14 strikeouts and nine walks over 12 innings in camp. The righty made just eight starts due to elbow problems in his first season in Chicago, but he's looked healthy and strong this spring and is worth a selection in the middle rounds in hopes he can bounce back.
