Young Broncos Team At Disadvantage This Offseason?
5 years agoOffseason workout restrictions because of COVID-19 are making things difficult for all NFL teams this year, but it might be even more difficult for a young Denver Broncos team with a second-year quarterback in Drew Lock, who doesn't even have a full year of experience under his belt and is learning a new system under offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. Denver has newcomers in running back Melvin Gordon III and Graham Glasgow, as well as rookies Jerry Jeudy, K.J. Hamler and Lloyd Cushenberry on offense, all of which are expected to start in 2020. Lock has all the weapons around him to take a big step in Year 2, but the limited offseason work with the squad could stunt his development and/or cause the Broncos to get off to a slow start out of the gates. He'll merely be a low-end to midrange QB2 that will need to prove it over a full season before fantasy owners completely buy in.
