Yimi Garcia Could Rejoin Team Soon
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays skipper Charlie Montoyo was impressed with right-hander Yimi Garcia's (back) first minor league rehab outing on Monday with Triple-A Buffalo when he struck out two batters in one inning of work. "Maybe just that one," Montoyo said when asked how long the rehab assignment will be for Garcia. "Maybe he could just meet us in Seattle." Garcia went on the injured list with a back strain in late June, but the 31-year-old is likely to give Toronto some more bullpen depth this week. Before his injury, Garcia had a 3.42 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP with 26 strikeouts and only five walks in 26 1/3 relief innings for the Jays.
