Willie Calhoun To Start Light Workouts Soon
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (jaw) is back in Texas and will be able to resume light workouts soon in his recovery from a broken jaw suffered in spring training. Calhoun had surgery the day after he was hit by a pitch to insert a plate and stabilize his jaw. He believes he'll be ready for Opening Day now that it may not come until late May due to the coronavirus. Calhoun hit .269 with 21 home runs in 83 games for the team last year and is expected to play every day in left field when the season starts. He was dropping in drafts after his injury because he wasn't expected to be ready for Opening Day, but that has changed now. He could be a real nice bargain at his current 174.4 ADP in deep mixed leagues.
