Willie Calhoun Takes Swings Monday
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (jaw) took swings on Monday for the first time since fracturing his jaw in spring training three weeks ago. Calhoun got lucky with the season being delayed due to the coronavirus. Otherwise, he definitely wouldn't have been ready for the start of the regular season. With the season not starting for another couple months most likely, he'll be fully recovered by then and is expected to have an everyday role in the outfield after hitting .269/.323/.524 with 21 home runs and 48 RBI in 309 at-bats in 2019. One of the team's top prospects when he was on the farm, Calhoun has exciting upside and should come at a nice value to those that wait in deep mixed leagues.
