Willie Calhoun Cleared For Baseball Activities
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun (jaw) said on his Twitter account that he was cleared on Thursday to start doing his daily workouts and to resume baseball activities. Manager Chris Woodward said on Wednesday that he expects Calhoun to be ready for the start of the regular season, whenever that may be. The 25-year-old had surgery around three weeks ago for a fractured jaw that he suffered in spring training, but he's making nice progress. He's expected to be a regular in Texas' outfield in 2020 and will come at an excellent value in deep mixed leagues this year. Calhoun hit .269/.323/.524 with 21 home runs and 48 RBI in just 83 games last season.
