William Byron Rounds Out Top Five At COTA
2 years agoWilliam Byron was exasperated by the end of Sunday. It did not start that way on the pole for the Hendrick Motorsports Racing driver. The No. 24 car led 28 laps in all, but never could even win a stage. Alas, Tyler Reddick was a little faster in the race's critical moments and restarts. Byron had the second fastest car on metrics but in the end finished fifth because of those restarts. He was the only other driver to have a fastest lap below 133 seconds on the day. Sometimes that is how things work in racing.
