White Sox Not Bidding On Bryce Harper
6 years agoThe Chicago White Sox will not bid on free-agent outfielder Bryce Harper, according to a source. The White Sox also lost out on their primary target on Tuesday when Manny Machado agreed to a 10-year, $300 million contract with the Padres. Harper, a six-time All-Star and 2015 National League MVP, is expected to command a long-term deal in excess of $300 million. He has averaged 32 home runs and 91 RBI per 162 games played and carries a .388 on-base percentage, .512 slugging percentage and .900 OPS in his career. At this point, it looks like it's coming down to the Phillies and Giants, with the Phillies being the favorites.
