White Sox Not Actively Pursuing Nicholas Castellanos, Yasiel Puig
5 years agoThe Chicago White Sox are not actively involved in the sweepstakes for outfielders Nicholas Castellanos or Yasiel Puig after already trading for Nomar Mazara this offseason. Chicago has made drastic improvements to their roster and have spent $195.5 million in free agency, but they will now look to improve their bullpen. Castellanos is the more attractive corner outfield option coming off a season in which he hit a combined .289/.337/.525 with 27 homers, 100 runs and 73 RBI with the Tigers and Cubs. Puig brings more baggage but bounced back with a .267 average, 24 home runs, 84 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 555 at-bats with the Reds and Indians in 2019.
