White Sox Don't Intend To Trade Jose Abreu
6 years agoThe Chicago White Sox have no intentions of trading first baseman Jose Abreu despite acquiring first baseman Yonder Alonso from the Indians on Friday. Abreu's season ended prematurely in 2018 due to injury, and he hit .265/.325/.473 with a career-low 22 home runs, 78 RBI and 68 runs scored in a career-low 128 games. It was the first time in Abreu's five-year career that he failed to reach the 100-RBI mark on a rebuilding Chicago team, and it was just the second time in his five seasons that he didn't hit 30 or more homers. A healthier season could easily see him return to the 30-homer, 100-RBI mark, as well as an improved lineup around him.
