White Sox Acquire Former Top Prospect Manny Banuelos
6 years agoThe Chicago White Sox acquired starting pitcher Manny Banuelos from the Dodgers on Thursday in exchange for minor league infielder Justin Yurchak. The left-handed Banuelos was once a top prospect of the Yankees, but he has thrown only 26 1/3 innings in the majors and not since 2015 with the Braves. He went 9-7 with a 3.73 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and impressive 10.5 K/9 over 31 outings (18 starts) for Triple-A Oklahoma City last year, so he might have something left. He's not a bad flier for a rebuilding White Sox club. Yurchak mostly plays first base and hit .256/.348/.326 with one home run and 36 RBI in 95 games for Single-A Kannapolis this year.
