5 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles running back Wendell Smallwood led the Eagles backfield in carries and yards in Thursday's final preseason game. The Eagles were shutout in an ugly 6-0 loss, but Smallwood ran the ball seven times, gaining 23 yards. He lost a fumble and lost a yard on his only reception. Smallwood seems to be on the outside looking in for the final running back spot on the Eagles roster. While it may not be in Philly, Smallwood should be a depth piece on some NFL roster this season.
