Wendell Carter Jr. Picks Up Nice Double-Double In Thursday's Win
4 years agoOrlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. had a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double off the bench as the team shocked New Orleans with a 115-110 overtime win on Thursday. Khem Birch was the starting center but left the game early with an illness. Carter Jr. finished with 8-for-13 shooting from the field and made all of five free throws. He handed out two assists as well and had one block in 31 minutes. Carter Jr. is averaging 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks through his first three games for Orlando, which are some really solid numbers considering that he's been coming off the bench. He will benefit greatly from Birch's absence, although the next matchup isn't a very pleasant one, as Carter Jr. will be forced to battle with Rudy Gobert on Saturday.
