Wade LeBlanc To Have MRI Saturday
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Wade LeBlanc, who left the game early on Friday night with a strained right oblique, will undergo an MRI exam on Saturday. LeBlanc allowed a two-run home run while striking out five and walking one in 4 2/3 innings against the Astros before departing. Oblique injuries usually aren't good for pitchers or hitters, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see LeBlanc go on the injured list. If he is ruled out for some time, the Mariners are likely to go to one of their young minor league pitchers to fill in. Right-hander Erik Swanson is an option, and so is top prospect Justus Sheffield, who started at Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.
